Setting Ambitious Goals

Maybe I’ll fail, but it doesn’t hurt to aim high.

In general, 2022 has gotten off to a rough start. Omicrom is everywhere. Information is running rampant. No one is quite sure what’s coming next.

So with all this in mind, I’ve doubled down and focused on my goals for the year.

I’m a little behind where I need to be on reading. I’m a little ahead on words written. Overall, I’m still on track, although I can’t believe that we’re two weeks into the new year already.

One of my main focuses thus far has been to secure some freelance work that gives me options going forward. In the past twelve days, I’ve found four regular clients (3 writing clients and 1 business consulting client). It’s only been 12 days, but here’s what I’ve learned so far.

  1. Be responsive.

Being ready to respond to inquiries from potential clients was the reason I landed the first two writing clients. Both emails were answered within 15 minutes of being received.

Now, I don’t want to spend the rest of my life tied to my devices just in case someone reaches out to me, but for the time being, it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.

2. Don’t be afraid to charge what you’re worth.
